- Chris: Artistic Report
- Reported that Paul Scholtz will be returning from vocal rest.
- Summarized successful tour to NY and PA.
- Updated board on status of eOne recording created last summer.
- Distributed and discussed summary of new evaluation process for Cantus programs.
- Joe: Executive Director Report
- Reported that Cantus has entered the tightest period of cash flow, but expressed optimism.
- Explained process for renewing the terms of NAF loan.
- Reported that Cantus has applied for MSAB Arts Access funding.
- Reported that Sweet Honey in the Rock has not signed contract.
- Approve: NAF Corporate Borrowing Resolution (as included in board materials)
- Chuck: Treasurer’s Report
- Expect cash flow to improve after Cantus Idol.
- Discussed projected loss of $57K, based on current financials.
- Romeo and Juliet will cause a paper loss of $35K.
- Because a new CD was not released this year, CD sale revenue will also contribute to loss.
- Summarized meeting with Athwin Foundation to discuss $100K proposal.
- Accept: FY17 March Financials
- Noel/Brock/Carly: Engagement Committee Update
- Provided update on Idol auction item packages.
- Discussed pledges secured for Idol fund-a-need.
- Reported that tickets sales are still under goal, but that we have enough time for more sales.
- Reported that Summit Brewery will provide beer hall for pre-Covers event.
- Thanked Karl for creating a survey for subscribers who did not renew this year; reported healthy response to survey.
- Pete: Governance Committee Update
- Provided update on recruiting new board members.
- Reviewed Kevin Stocks bio.
- Approve: Kevin Stocks as Cantus board member
- Wendy: Board/Singer/Staff Retreat Plan
- Conveyed plan to meet in fall 2017 for strategic thinking retreat.
