Cantus Media Initiative
- Monitoring revenue particularly closely, we have identified $30,000 in new revenue for the year. However we have also had two significant grants from the State Arts Board declined. Including these two changes, we now project a shortfall for FY16 of up to $125,000. Please see the Treasurer’s report for additional information.
National bookings and publicity
- A booking at WQXR’s Greene Space has been confirmed for February 8. From RDPR: New York is the #1 market in the country for music with the most prestigious presenting organizations in the world. Likewise, WQXR is very selective about events they present at the Greene Space so an appearance there is a stamp of approval recognized by the entire classical community in the city (and beyond). Benefits are threefold: we get valuable airtime on NYC's classical music station, we have an exclusive and beautifully produced event to which we can invite press and presenters and we'll have the resulting program that can be shared as a valuable part of the Cantus press kit.
Financial services support
- We have terminated our contract with Mobius (accounting services) for cause and signed a new contract with CliftonLarsonAllen, a national firm. Not only will they be able to provide more reliable and accountable service, they have bench strength that will serve us well.
New singers
- (from Matt Tintes) The new singers continue to improve and become an integral part of the “fabric” of the organization. Especially during the run of our home concerts, and then after going on a two-week tour that took us all over the Midwest and Northeast, it really feels like these guys are part of the group, and no longer “the new guys”. Even though they’ve been contributing since they began with us in August, this past few weeks have really felt like a unified, solidified, Cantus.
Cantus Media Initiative
- Cantus and MPR continue to build out our relationship. Because Cantus is free of rights issues (other than reporting to Harry Fox and ASCAP/BMI), we are able to contribute to MPR’s new digital projects, thus extending our reach much further than we could ever do on our own. Please see the report from Jeff Bina for additional information.
