Board Candidate Bio: Kevin Stocks
Kevin is a proud 6th generation Oregonian, but left his home state to follow choral ambitions and moved to Minnesota to study at St. Olaf College. At St. Olaf Kevin was a music major with a management studies concentration, sang in the Viking Chorus and St. Olaf Choir, and studied voice, piano and organ. Post college, Kevin was a company manager for family tours such as Sesame Street Live, Dragon Tales Live and Bear in the Big Blue House Live. When a permanent life on the road became tedious, Kevin moved back to Eugene to plan events for the University of Oregon Alumni Association for a year before being called back to Minnesota to take a job at St. Olaf. For over 9 years Kevin was the Assistant Director for Marketing and Communications for St. Olaf Music Organizations. In this role he worked with the St. Olaf Band, St. Olaf Orchestra and St. Olaf Choir to promote their annual tours as well as large scale events on campus such as the St. Olaf Christmas Festival. Since 2015, Kevin has planned events for the Beer Dabbler, a craft beer festival showcase, as well as other events put on by The Growler Magazine. Kevin and his husband, Mike Dugan, are perpetually busy renovating their 1907 home in St. Paul and enjoy checking out new and favorite breweries and restaurants in the Twin Cities. They also take any opportunity to travel and get back to Oregon regularly to visit family and friends. In the warmer months they hitch up their camper and take advantage of the natural beauty in the area.
