Prospective Board Member Bio: Frank Stubbs
Frank Stubbs is a community volunteer with over 30 years of leadership in arts administration. His experience includes executive director of Lutheran Music Program, general manager of VocalEssence, executive program director of the American Composers Forum, and Head of Department of Bands and Orchestras at Purdue University. He served for nine years on the board of directors of Chorus America; as vice president of ChoralNet; as treasurer, Sixth World Symposium on Choral Music; and as commissioner, Minneapolis Arts Commission. As a clarinetist/bass clarinetist Frank was on the faculty of Stetson University and was a member of the Florida Symphony Orchestra. As a conductor, Frank was Director of Bands and Conductor of the University Symphony Orchestra at Purdue University, Artistic Director of Opera de Lafayette, Associate Conductor of the Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis, and Resident Conductor of the South Carolina Governor’s School. He has conducted the professional Orquestra Sinfônica da Unicamp (Brazil) on several occasions. He has served as a music panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts. He was development chair for Bethlehem Music Series, Minneapolis.
