The month of December, as usual, was packed with our performances of Christmas with Cantus! The show was an overall success - we got great reviews and most importantly it seemed that our audiences were especially moved by the program. We always get lovely comments from our audiences, but it did seem like people were especially energetic and emotional with their post-concert comments. It was a joy to perform and every year I am reminded of just how important we are to our Twin Cities community, and vice versa. I cannot tell you haw many people said “It just isn’t Christmas without Cantus” to me as they left our concerts.
We all enjoyed our Christmas break, and then had a great time on the road for our Minnesota tour, made possible by the Minnesota State Arts Board. I was really blown away with the quality of the audiences in Northern Minnesota, particularly in Grand Marais, Brainerd, and Virginia. We had solid audience turnout everywhere - despite some nasty weather - and drove very carefully during the entire trip!
This next month is going to be jam packed with high school educational visits, rehearsals for our spring show, lots of Gala planning, and a video shoot with MPR for our APM special which will be released this spring.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and a fantastic start to 2020!
